Sounds like it would get old... Do they have much respect for forigners there? I know that they are smart but do they have that ego that says "I'm smarter then you and I know it"? Kinda seems like they might but Idk...

foreigners as tourists are tolerated. Foreigners as co-workers, not so much so.
They tend to use the "I dont see you, therefor you dont exist" way of dealing with gaigin (their term for foreigners)....Many times I would be simply ignored will standing in line (they would take everyone around me first....then only if I protested wait on me), they also assume that under no uncertain terms can a non-asian looking person possible speak japanese---even if you CAN speak it perfectly they wont even listen to you since they KNOW you couldnt speak it. (makes it very hard to do things there when they wont listen to you when you try to speak to them )......I degress.

smart???? why do people get this stereotype in their brain??? They are not smarter than any other educated country. The schools there teach memorization and NOTHING else---there are NO essay tests, all tests are either t/f, multichoice, fill in blank, or short answer (and the later is only seen sometimes).....they dont teach kids to THINK. ah nevermind.....all the people I worked with in the programme had the same issues with the school system in japan.

I did enjoy living there, the food was great, I made some wonderful friends, got to see some beautiful places (ones not concreted yet)....but returning home was even better.

oh sorry another novel.

Yes I know that Americans are very egotistical, I live around a bunch of them. >< But I don't know about Japan and I don't want to make assumptions about them. So that is why I asked. Okay their test scores are higher then ours, that is why. But ya we have to think over here with essay test. >.<

Very true... It seems like all the history books focus on Europe and America. What about those other continents? South America, Africa, Asia, Australia, Antartica? Would like to learn more about those.

True but meh, whatever.

I'm around 6-6'1, so a whole foot and a half taller then me, that is a unfathmable difference imo...

ehm, yeah because feet doens't have different sizes, so it's easier to measure ??

Metric is the most reliable and the easiest to figure out, Feet and inches sucks

its because we are too stubborn to change (we tried really---I remember them forcing us to learn metric when I was in 6th grade....they gave up by the next year).
I know both more or less now (I cant do complete conversions but I can get a pretty close guess-tamation when I need one).

It's like Fahrenheit and Celsius.
And feet and inches are dumb... why do 12 inches = 1 feet ? xD.
If you want some strange japanese pics go here and there (it's mostly in frech, unfortunately).
